✨SELECTION COMMITTEE SPOTLIGHT ✨. Batia Ofer is the Chair of the Royal Academy Trust, a patron of the arts, and an established art collector. She is also a committed philanthropist who is the founder of Art of Wishes. She has been a member of the Royal Academy Trust since 2019 and was appointed the prestigious role of Chair in 2023. Alongside her role as Chair, she holds Board, Trustee, and Advisory level positions at cultural and educational institutions such as Sotheby’s, the Peres Centre for Peace and Innovation, and until recently, the Victoria & Albert Museum and Harvard Kennedy School. She also chaired the Education Committee at the Serpentine Gallery and has consulted for Frieze Art Fair. Batia is a passionate philanthropist who, in 2017, established Art of Wishes, a charitable initiative that unites the art world to raise funds for the UK-based Make-A-Wish Foundation. During her eight year tenure as Chair, the initiative raised £15 million and helped grant more than 6,000 wishes for children living with critical, life-threatening illnesses. She has now stepped down as Chair and continues to support the organisation as its Honorary President. Batia is also responsible for overseeing the ‘Idan and Batia Ofer Family Foundation’, which supports a range of causes across issues of health, education, and culture that are close to her heart. This includes the construction of ‘The Sammy Ofer Centre’ at the London Business School which supports the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs, and the establishment of a scholarship program for Israeli and Palestinian students at the Harvard Kennedy School.

✨SELECTION COMMITTEE SPOTLIGHT✨. Brigitta Spinocchia Freund is the principal and creative director of Spinocchia Freund, a
London-based interior architecture and design studio renowned for crafting refined, distinctive
interiors for a global clientele. Since founding the practice in 2009, she has drawn on over 25
years of experience to create spaces with vision that are meticulously considered and deeply
personal, reflecting the individuality and lifestyle of each client.
Brigitta approaches every project as an evolving narrative with a curatorial eye. Collectible
and bespoke furnishings alongside emerging artworks form interiors rich in character and
meaning. Her rooms often evoke modern-day cabinets of curiosity, where rare pieces and
custom designs are choreographed to express a strong sense of place and personality. Her
commitment to craftsmanship ensures that every element feels unique, timeless, and designed
to evolve with the people who live alongside it.
A vocal champion of emerging talent, Brigitta passionately supports and elevates rising stars
in the arts as a Patron of the British Fashion Council Foundation, a judge for PAD London and
the Women in Art Prize, and a dedicated partner and sponsor of Collect Open at Collect, the
international fair for contemporary craft and design. She actively fosters groundbreaking
creators through meaningful collaborations and sponsorships, frequently commissioning works
within her projects. Her projects span London, Los Angeles, Courchevel, Gstaad, Ibiza, Monaco,
the Middle East, and Asia, where she weaves historical references, cultural narratives, and

Meet the Selection Committee ✨Virginia Damtsa is a curator, gallerist, and cultural strategist known for shaping thoughtful, forward-looking artistic programmes that bridge disciplines, communities, and international perspectives, while supporting the growth of artists and art businesses. With a practice rooted in dialogue, development, and cultural exchange, she has built a reputation for discovering and nurturing both emerging and established artists, and for creating platforms that foster meaningful conversations around contemporary art and society. She was a co-founder of Riflemaker Gallery, where she worked for nearly two decades, developing ambitious programmes and cross-disciplinary collaborations. She also collaborated with musician Peter Gabriel and The Vinyl Factory at the intersection of art and music. For a decade now, she is also the founder and director of VirginiaVisualArts, a curatorial and cultural platform dedicated to art sales, artist development, international exhibitions, and cross-sector strategic collaborations. She is currently Director of Visual Arts at Town Hall, the new cultural landmark in King’s Cross, London, where she leads the visual arts programme and curates exhibitions that position the venue as a dynamic space for artistic experimentation, public engagement, and cross-cultural dialogue.
